Vintage choker has five strands and an ornate clasp with.a simple hook. Estate sale find! Art Deco styling with black and white contrast with lots of sparkle!
Choker measures 15” with waterfall effect. No believe this was designed to clasp in the front because of the rhinestone studded clasp and the pearls and rhinestone studded spacers at the ends. This seems like the more beautiful part of the necklace so I would expect to see it face on rather than at the back of the neck, but it can be worn either way.
I believe the black beads are some type of gemstone; perhaps onyx or obsidian. These appear to be hand strung and are knotted between each bead. I do not believe the black beads are glass; they are quite cold and do not warm to the touch and also have more weight than glass beads. The clasp appears to be signed in script near the end of the hook on reverse.
